WHO WE ARE
Singapore Peace Centre (SPC) was formed as a non-profit making limited company in the UK in January 2014 to promote peace and peace settlements among conflicting parties within or among nations . The organisation is currently privately funded and working to gain charitable status. SPC is not connected to any government nor does it have any link to any other organisations. We are and will always be a totally politically independent unbiased organisation with no ideological or religious alignments.
Also we want to provide an alternative perspective on how international bodies could be more effective.
Our primary mission is to promote peace and peaceful settlements between and among conflicting parties through cultivating and providing the environment for dialogue.
We hope that meaningful dialogues will take place and lead to peaceful settlements. Any messages from any conflicting parties will be conveyed back and forth to the adversaries and be treated with utmost confidentiality.
We will refrain from making comments about any individual or organisation in order to be completely open, approachable and trustworthy to all parties. We will talk to anyone who wishes to talk to us regarding a peace settlement and if required, we will act as a mediator and pass their messages on to the appropriate party.
We also believe that conflict comes in many different forms. Armed conflict is just one of these. Conflicts that do not involve arms can be just as damaging as those that do. They can still significantly harm many people’s well-being, despite the fact that no weapons are involved. Singapore Peace Centre is open to helping broker peaceful solutions for all types of conflict.
We are a new and dynamic organisation who are willing consider fresh approaches that could help us achieve our objectives. Our organisation is open to everyone. Please do join us to build a better tomorrow for all.
